Just Add Water For Instant Fun!

I was asked to cover an event for Around Woodstock magazine. The event was the last day of the season for the Cherokee County Aquatic Center when they opened up their outdoor pool and allowed people to bring their dogs. I have never seen more pure joy in my life! The gates opened, and the dogs rushed in – playing, splashing, jumping, running. If you can’t watch that and smile, you are a sad cold person.

I really wanted to catch the action clearly, so I shot in shutter priority mode at 1/500 and ISO 400. That allowed me to capture every leap, splash, and butt wiggle. And, yes, I was in the water with the dogs. There is no way to adequately capture that action from far away. Sometimes you just have to be in the middle of it.

Gear used for this shoot:
Nikon D7100
Nikon D300
Nikon 85/1.8
Tamron 28-75/2.8
